Board of Directors

BusinessKind is steered by a team of Myanmar business and nonprofit sector experts. They are committed in their service to improve the opportunities of all Myanmar peoples. Their years of directing Myanmar and international non-governmental organizations, working as government officials and directing successful businesses gives BusinessKind a broad leadership team. Our board members are all lifelong Myanmar residents.


Dr. Khin Aye Aye, Chairwoman

Dr. Aye chairs the board with deep experience in creating sustainable public health programs. She has established medical service centers for embassies, large international businesses and rural communities. In 2002 she was one of the first Myanmar public figures to actively address HIV/AIDS prevention by co-founding and directing the Myanmar Business Coalition for HIV/AIDS. For 28 years, Dr Aye has worked closely with directors of non-governmental organizations and government ministry heads to strengthen civil society and promote equal opportunities for all Myanmar people.


Dr. Nwe Nwe Oo

Dr. Nwe Nwe’s experience is particularly valuable to BusinessKind because it includes eight years managing health services in the Myanmar garment industry. As an owner of a small Myanmar business she understands the challenges of starting and growing a successful enterprise. She is currently the program coordinator at the Myanmar Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS.

Dr. Htun Linn Oo

Dr Htun, MD, MPH,  spent many years directing health promotion public programs in the nonprofit sector. He is currently the program manager for corporate social responsibility at Ooredoo Myanmar, the leading telecom company in Myanmar. Dr Htun’s position allows BusinessKind to have a front row seat in the evolution of affordable cellular access in Myanmar.


Dr. Phone Myint Win

Dr. Phone is the Myanmar Country representative of the Burnet Institute, an Australian non-profit organization that promotes medical research, medical education and public health. Prior to joining the non-profit sector, Dr. Phone, managed product management and marketing departments of multinational pharmaceutical companies. He is a Humphrey Fellow and member of the Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars U.S.A, the society dedicated to recognizing individuals who have demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to international education and exchange.


Dr. Soe Naing

Soe Naing MD, MPH, is the Executive Director of Alliance Myanmar, an international non-profit organization committed to ending HIV/AIDS through community action. He obtained his MPH from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2004. He is a fellow of the  “Asia Pacific Leadership Program” at East-West Center in Honolulu, USA.

Suu Suu Thet

Suu Suu Thet is a co-founder and finance director of Andaman Investment and Management, a highly diversified company stipulating expertise and professional services in a wide range of industries in Myanmar. She obtained her business degree from University of Technology, Sydney.

Thandar Ko, BusinessKind Myanmar Country Director

Thandar Ko directs BusinessKind Myanmar with a deep experience in managing small businesses and nonprofit organizations. Her artistic design talent and enthusiasm for product innovation is infectious to BusinessKind’s staff. Thandar’s steady directorship keeps BusinessKind’s reputation growing as a sustainable and successful social business model for Myanmar.


Aung Kyaw Oo, BusinessKind Logistics and Sales Manager

Aung Kyaw  keeps BusinessKind’s operations working smoothly. Whether driving and servicing our truck, car and motorcycle or counting inventory or marketing our products, Aung Kyaw is repairing, inventing and problem solving.


Cho Cho San, GoodSleep Bed Nets and GoodNight Candle Production Manager

Cho Cho San was our first GoodSleep employee and production manager. Since 2008 Cho Cho San has supervised the design and production of over 50,000 bed nets. Cho Cho San’s kind, fair and steady management style stamps GoodSleep’s and GoodNight’s reputation as the community’s most favorable employment opportunity for women living with health challenges


Hnin MarLar Myint, SwissHouse and Thone Pan Hla Manager

Hnin Marlar Myint’s experience as a garment factory supervisor in Malaysia gives her a special understanding of the challenges women face on the factory work floor. She knows first hand what they need and how they can succeed in the garment sector. Hnin Marlar Myint manages the daily operations of SwissHouse, Thone Pan Hla Association, Our Home Hostel, GoodJob and Sunday Café with a sincere commitment to help women garment workers thrive inside and outside the factory.
